Obesity Myth Revealed - What You Need To Know

Obesity is a REAL epidemic. There is no sugar coating this. Obesity can lead to serious health conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and many more. All of the complications that come with obesity can be reversed through simple treatment that we will discuss in this article.

Obesity causes -

The main cause of obesity is excessive intake of food and lack of physical activity.  If you consume 3000 calories a day and only burn 2000 calories a day then you have an extra 1000 calories a day that will get turned into fat in your body.  Obesity does not happen over night, it is a compound effect.  3500 calories is equal to 1 pound of fat.  So with that being said, if you are consuming 1000 calories more than your body burns each day, you will consume 7000 calories a week that will just get turned into fat.  This means you will gain 2 pounds of fat per week.   That might not seem like a lot at first but if you do that every week you will gain over 100 pounds in 1 year!

Obesity treatment -

Luckily most obesity problems can be reversed with proper diet and exercise.  One of the first things you should do is find out your resting metabolic weight (RMR).  This will tell you exactly how many calories you burn a day while your body is at rest.  In laymen terms, you will find out how many calories your body burns if you lay in bed all day.  This number will be different for everyone, but lets say your RMR is 2000 calories a day lying in bed.  Like I said earlier 3500 calories = 1 pound of fat.  So if you are burning 2000 calories a day lying in bed, and you consume 1500 calories a day, you will have a shortage of 500 calories per day.  This means after 1 week, or 7 days, you will have a shortage of 3500 calories and have burned 1 pound of fat.  That can be more than 50 pounds in 1 year!  Now obviously if you are up and about you will burn more calories than you would at rest, this is just an example.  Physical activity will raise that calorie burn significantly, resulting in your body being able to consume more than just 1500 calories and still burn fat
